Birthday Meme

Valerie from "Please Don't Put Those Beans Up Your Nose," left an open tag for the birthday meme. Since I haven't blogged in a few days and have no ideas of my own, I'm taking the tag.


So I guess the rules are that you list the characteristics that correspond with your birth month and according to the characteristics at the end. Then, you comment after each characteristic about how that is or isn't like you. So here goes:

September:

Suave and compromising: I am great at dealing with others easily and without friction, as long as they aren't related to me, don't try to tell me I'm wrong, and don't disagree with my views! LOL Seriously, I have trouble being suave around an ex or certain people, but I try the rest of the time. Note, try haha. As for compromising, yeah I'm not so great at compromise.

Careful, cautious, and organized: Careful how? I look both ways before crossing the street! Umm cautious -- maybe, depends on the situation. I like to do be not so careful and cautious by speeding, going on roller coasters, and all sorts of things, but I can be cautious when I need to be. Unfortunately, I am extremely organized in the workplace. I actually used to have a coworker pick on me daily -- everything had to be in its place. He would come by my desk and rearrange my stapler, post-it dispenser, and tape dispenser just to annoy me because he knew they each had their own spot! I can't say much about my house right now though since I just moved back in with my parents, I don't think any of us is organized at the moment!!

Likes to point out people's mistakes: Yes, I admit it. I am the editor. If you send me a letter, email, note, etc. I will find any and all grammatical and/or spelling mistakes. I will try not to clue you in to these mistakes, but I usually do anyway because I just can't help myself! This comes partially from my mother doing it for years and partially from obtaining a BA in Journalism!

Likes to criticize: I'm very critical, I try not to be, but I am.
Must control oneself when criticizing: Yeah, I tend to get carried away sometimes.

Stubborn: VERY!!! Once my mind is made up, it's made up.

Quiet but able to talk well: I'm quiet when I first meet someone or in large groups. However, in a small group of friends -- good luck getting me to be quiet! I have no problems talking well.

Calm and cool: Haha, not even close! Ask my kids or my ex-husband!

Kind and sympathetic: I try to be kind to everyone (with a few exceptions ; ) ) I am very sympathetic though. I 've been through a great deal and often misunderstood, so I try hard to relate to and sympathize with others.

Concerned and detailed: Yes, I am a very concerned person and a stickler for details. This can be productive or counterproductive though depending on what you're trying to accomplish!

Loyal but not always honest: I am very loyal. My friends and family mean the world to me. I consider myself an honest person, but I do tell frequent white lies, why tell someone that color makes them look washed out? Why not tell a small lie? Hmmmm.......

Does work well. Sensitive: I grouped these because they describe me and I have nothing else to say about them.

Very confident: NOT! At least not when it comes to self-confidence. I am very confident when it comes to my work.

Good memory: I have a great....ummm what was the question?! LOL On some topics yes, others no.

Clever and knowledgeable: Ummm, I'm book smart! I have no street smarts.

Loves to look for information: Yes, I do!

Able to motivate oneself, Understanding, Fun to be around: I'm great at self-motivation when I need to be, I'm very understanding, and I hope I'm fun to be around. The last part, I guess it depends on my mood -- I have too many mood swings!

Secretive: I can be, oh yes I can!

Loves leisure and traveling: I probably would love traveling if I ever had the money to go anywhere!

Hardly shows emotions and Tends to bottle up feelings: I rarely show emotions, I refuse to let anyone see me cry! I'm actually getting better at this. Therapy has a way of making you open up!! Same goes for the feelings.

Very choosy, especially in relationships: Wish I was!

Systematic: Yes I am!
